This project was created for the Articulate Custom Dials Challenge. The goal was to use a circular dial not as a data control, but as a playful navigation system.
I built a retro boombox interface where learners “tune in” to different radio stations, each representing a workplace generation. As the dial moves, the music changes, revealing each generation’s values and leadership insights.
It’s a fun, music-driven way to explore how leaders can adapt their approach across Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z.
Articulate Storyline 360 · Custom Dials · Layer Triggers · Audio Editing · Instructional Storytelling
The idea began with a simple “what if”: What if leadership tips were like different radio stations you could tune into?
Using a Freepik boombox illustration, I rebuilt the interface in Storyline, creating a fully functional dial that changes both visuals and sound. Each station features a short music clip and concise leadership advice:
Behind the scenes, triggers and layers manage seamless audio transitions to mimic real tuning.
Custom dials aren’t just for controls, they can become storytelling devices. Pairing movement with sound makes learning tactile, memorable, and just plain fun.
